as the third belt and road forum for international cooperation is opening up, the seminar on agricultural products market system building for belt and road countries, sponsored by the chinese government and organised by the foreign economic cooperation centre, ministry of agriculture and rural affairs, is also ongoing in beijing. participants of the seminar shared their cooperation with china, speaking highly of the belt and road initiative.

ethiopian participants of the seminar were quoted that ethiopia was a key strategic partner of china in africa and was part of the belt and road. under the initiative, china has made a lot of investment and transferred a large amount of technology to ethiopia, which improved the latter's agricultural productivity and promoted its agricultural and rural development.

during the discussion, participants from pakistan said, "the china-pakistan economic corridor, cpec, is a project under the belt and road initiative, under which pakistan and china have carried out a lot of cooperative projects. we are looking forward to cooperation in more fields such as in sesame and olive."

the bulgarian participant commented that bulgaria and china are strategic partners. bulgaria is among the first countries (in 2015) to join the belt and road initiative. agricultural cooperation between bulgaria and china is extensive and intensive, with bilateral agricultural trade accounting for nearly 1/6 of the total trade volume between china and bulgaria in 2022. we look forward to more agricultural cooperation between bulgaria and china.

the participant from lesotho praised the belt and road initiative, saying that the initiative was a huge transcontinental project, which has revitalized the silk road economy, and facilitated the trade of agricultural products.

the participant from guyana, who is a marketing officer, said, "guyana and china have a lot of cooperation. we look forward to introducing hybrid, high-yield, especially salt-alkali tolerant planting technologies from china. guyana's rice production is increasing rapidly, and we are hoping to export to china." 

the turkish participants, when introducing their country, said, "türkiye is an important node of the belt and road. türkiye has a rich variety of agricultural products. we are looking forward to more agricultural cooperation between türkiye and china under the initiative."
