minister tang said china is earnestly implementing the global development initiative proposed by president xi jinping. while safeguarding its own food security and having won a decisive victory in poverty alleviation, china supports developing countries in continuously increasing their grain production capacity by implementing supportive policies and providing fund and technology, among other things. since 2009, china has donated 130 million u.s. dollars to the food and agriculture organization of the united nations (fao) and dispatched more than 300 specialists to developing countries in asia, africa and latin america to implement south–south and triangular cooperation projects in agriculture, thus has contributed to solving food security issues in host countries.

the exhibition showcased china’s achievements in areas such as poverty alleviation, rural revitalization, digital agriculture, south–south cooperation, and globally important agricultural heritage systems. ma youxiang, vice minister of mara, presided over the event. over 200 guests attended the event, including wei baigang, chief economist and director of the general office of mara, jia guide, chinese ambassador to italy, and guang defu, permanent representative of china to fao, as well as heads of fao, the world food programme and the international fund for agricultural development (ifad) and other un agencies and agricultural ministers and representatives from over 100 countries.
